SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – A vegetation fire that broke out on Little Mountain in San Bernardino is now 80 percent contained after burning 17 acres and damaging six homes as of Tuesday morning.
A temporary shelter has been established at Cajon High School located at 1200 W Hil Dr., San Bernardino. Residents can enter through the east parking lot and report to the gymnasium.
Winds made it difficult for crews to fight the fire overnight as they worked to control hot spots.
One person has reportedly been rescued although no injuries have been reported.
Multiple agencies are working in conjunction with CalFire to fight the blaze which is being pushed down onto homes by high winds.
Fire crews are engaged in structure defense with multiple power lines down in the area.
Approximately 75 firefighters were on the scene as of Monday evening with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Aviation Unit assisting with water drops.
