LOS ANGELES – The chances of high school sports stars becoming professional sports stars are pretty slim.
The NCAA did a recent study on the stats and some sports are in the single digit percentile for going pro.
One nonprofit exposes kids to careers in sports, but focuses on those off the field.
The nonprofit Careers in Sports held an expo earlier this year at Los Angeles Football Club’s Banc of California Stadium and invited middle and high school students to speak with professionals in the sports industry who aren’t players.
The nonprofit says it is working on another fundraiser in December.
