BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – Twenty five years ago, six 20-somethings sat on that famous couch talking life and love over a cup of coffee. Twenty five years later, two things live on – the quoting of those famous one liners and "The Rachel."

“She’s known for one thing her comedic timing. She’s also known for her hair color timing,” said co-creator of "The Rachel," Michael Canale.

Has Jennifer Aniston’s hair stood the test of time – as attention is still being paid to her mane event.

“You’re sort of sucked into the hair color, it draws you in,” Canale said.

Don’t believe him?

“People come in and ask for the Rachel hairstyles or Jen hair color at least 10 times a week,” Canale said.

Canale’s been doing Aniston’s hair for 25 years, since she was about 26 years old. He is known for coloring – specifically, natural enhanced looks. When she came to him for the pilot of Friends, it was a two man job – collaborating with Chris McMillan for the cut.

“We looked at it again and decided to pop the front, something to give it that signature look. That was the beginning of the Rachel,” McMillan siad.

And the beginning of a show that would live on far beyond its 10 seasons. Friends has 62 Primetime Emmy nominations, and six wins.

Now, in honor of its 25th anniversary of the pilot, fandemonium is at a fever pitch – with Central Perk pop-ups up all over town. As people still watch the episodes, now with an even younger generation of fans streaming them, Canale still does her hair today, every day.

“It’s a simplistic look to let her be who she was. Her crowning glory is her hair that smile those eyes. She’s got it all going on,” Canale said

Some friendships last a lifetime. Apparently so do some hairstyles.
