LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Art of Bloom is an immersive, pop-up art exhibit in downtown Long Beach.
The traveling exhibit opened in July. It will be at the Edison Theatre until Sept. 29.
Artist Daigo Daikoku wanted to explore the relationship between people and flowers. He was inspired by the Japanese cherry blossoms.
“I really want to… awake the five senses,” said Daikoku.
The Edison Theatre was built in 1917. It has been a sporting goods store, foot clinic, and a barber shop.
For a while it was empty. The multicultural communications agency Intertrend bought the space from the city of Long Beach in May 2016.
