REDDING, Calif. – A fire burning over 600 acres prompted a mandatory evacuation of nearly 4,000 Redding residents.

Windy conditions and steep terrain are making it difficult to fight the fire. Crews worked through the night to strengthen the containment lines.

An evacuation center has been set up at the Crosspointe Community Church at 2960 Hartnell Ave, Redding, CA.
