EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – The third season of Neflix’s Dear White People is creating some serious buzz, and one of the actors in the spotlight is Griffin Matthews.

Matthew plays the breakout character D’Unte, who is smart, unapologetically gay and charming everyone on and off the screen. According to a tweet by the series creator Justin Simien D’Unte is based on a real person.

Behind the scenes, Matthews is also a writer of the musical Witness Uganda, which tells the back story of his nonprofit the Uganda Project.

Dear White People is based on the 2014 film. You can see Matthews in season three on Netflix now.
