BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - This isn’t just any chocolate, this is handmade artisanal chocolate, crafted and sold at andSons chocolatiers.

Head chocolatier Kriss Harvey is a pastry chef who always dreamed of making his own chocolate confections. He even became a pastry chef to be around chocolate.

"To get a chance to stop doing pastry and just do chocolate after 28 years of being a pastry chef has been great," said Harvey.

He says it's the one treat that connects us all and that most people want in a dessert.

"People love chocolate. It crosses cultures. In everyone's country, chocolate is the No. 1 flavor people desire," Harvey said.

Harvey takes the chocolate to make confections like ganache, pralines, bonbons, and more. He follows the current trends to take this classic favorite and elevate it for the modern audience.

You can buy these unique confections in the Beverly Hills location of andSons.

Owner Phil Covitz opened it with his brother to honor his mother who was one of the first people to import and sell Swiss chocolate in the U.S.

"Our mother is very well associated with this corner and this location and a lot of our customers are our friends, so we wanted to update things for them and keep the relationship going," said Covitz.

They continue this relationship by selling their classic ganache and their modern hand-painted shells with surprising and unique fillings.

"I just think people these days are looking for interesting things to try," said Covitz.

At andSons, life’s like a box of chocolates, you never know which one you're going to get.
