CALIFORNIA – Taking movies beyond the silver screen, the entertainment company A24 is putting popular films in context by screening them in the locations where they were based.

The movies will be screened for free on billboards across the country, with two in California.

The award-winning movie Lady Bird will be screened on a billboard in Sacramento, California where the movie took place. The coming-of-age movie depicts the sometime tumultuous relationship between mothers and teenage daughters. The movie will be screened on July 20 at 8 p.m. at J St and 20th St.

In a city where people flock for celebrity sightings and a taste of what it’s like to be a star, Los Angeles is the perfect setting for the movie The Bling Ring. The movie depicts fame-obsessed young women who target celebrities to rob them. The movie will be screened on July 27 at 8 p.m. at Sepulveda Boulevard and Lanark Street.
