CARSON, Calif. - In Los Angeles, there’s always an Independence Day to celebrate. Since 1898, June 12 marks the Philippines independence from Spain and though it’s been over 120 years, Filipino-Americans observe it every year.

Iñigo Pascual is headlining the celebration in Carson and though he’s only performed in the U.S. a few times, to this crowd, he’s already a star.

“I am honestly overwhelmed with the response of the people,” said Pascual. “I did not expect that at all. What made it special, my family was out there watching and there were parts when I wanted to cry and I was getting emotional. I don’t know what to say, I’m honestly lost for words.”

“First of all, welcome back to L.A.,” said an interviewer to Pascual.

“Thank you,” Pascual responded back.

The son of Piolo Pascual, an entertainer known as the Brad Pitt of the Philippines, Iñigo is looking to carve a path of his own, but in America, so he’s performing his new single, appropriately called, "Options."

“I feel like with the wave of Korean K-Pop, I feel like it kind of broke that barrier, you know for people to appreciate music from other countries,” said Pascual.

Iñigo grew up in Glendale from age 8 to 18, but decided to move back to the Philippines to start his career. He acted in a TV series and a few movies, but not to follow in his father’s footsteps, he decided to be a singer and now he’s ready to crossover.

Introduced by the Global Head of Music & Talent of ABS-CBN, Roslynn Alba Cobarrubias, she announced, “Here is our community’s international superstar and my new best friend, Iñigo Pascual!”

“What’s up, what’s up?!” greeted Pascual back to his cheering audience.

Building his U.S. fan base close to where he grew up, Iñigo is ready to go on tour.

“It doesn’t matter what language. It doesn’t matter what kind of music you make as long as you're able to share it and I feel like with the help of technology, we’re able to share it easily and not have any problems with connecting with people,” said Pascual.

From the looks of it, Pascal’s crossing over by connecting.

Iñigo Pascual’s new single "Options" will be released on streaming platforms worldwide on June 28th.
