LOS ANGELES - A kiss on each cheek is the sweet French welcoming you’ll feel at Pitchoun Bakery and Cafe.

Co-Owner Fabienne Soulies immigrated from the South of France, and brought her original recipes with her. She opened two locations for her cafe, one in downtown, and now more recently, at the Beverly Center.

“Pitchoun is not another additional cafe in the L.A. food scene. We are artisan French bread and pastry makers. This is really the difference that we bring. We bring healthy food and French family recipes. And everything that we sell is home made,” she said.

Soulies takes pride in offering a distinct south of France experience, adding a Mediterranean touch to the culinary creations, and employing a team of French natives on staff.

“It’s part of the authenticity. Many customers, Americans, whatever their citizenship, they come here or in downtown and they say its really authentic because you have French speaking people. So they understand the quality and the variety that we share with people,” Soulies explained.

The countless croissants come in all flavors and textures. Every French style pastry sold is made in-house.

And customers who visit the bakery say they can taste the difference.

“Well I’ve been blessed to be in the film industry, and we go to Cannes quite a bit. So, I’ve been to Cannes, and Nice, and all these French restaurants, and it feels like I’m in Cannes. So it’s got that authentic French feel, and the food is authentic, the food is spectacular,” said customer Tony Boldi.

And it’s not a French experience without offering tempting crepes. Soulies says even the sweet options are still fresh because they don’t use any processed ingredients.

“It is very refreshing to see that people enjoy the food that we make and bake so simply, but with so much passion for them. So this is really exciting when you come everyday and you see customers happy, and they congratulate you. You feel that the message you gave them, came true,” said Soulies.

A message of simplicity, hospitality, and passion.
