CRENSHAW, Calif. -- Creativity abounds in South Los Angeles especially in times of healing.

Special art and murals are already going up to honor the memory of slain rapper, Nipsey Hussle. Doves are being released and there is even an online petition to rename the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue as "Nipsey Hussle Boulevard."

As of the time of this story, over 300,000 people have signed it.

Baraat Moller is one of those people.

“It’s only right. He’s done wrong on this block. He’s done good on this block. He has his own store here, and he’s a legend among that section, and to name it Nipsey Hussle Boulevard is the most respectful thing,” Moller said.

Beyond Nipsey’s work as an artist, Baraat honors Hussle for what he did in the community -- away from the recording booth.

“He’s modern day Tupac I don’t mean to down Pac, but he’s Pac times two, because not only did he spit it through his lyrics, he actually did it. He taught us the way. He shared the game like ‘this is what you guys need to do to be entrepreneurs,” Moller added.

And that's Nipsey Hussle’s real legacy; building in his own community.
