A flood advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday for areas burned by the Woolsey fire as the first storm of the season washed over the Southland.
Rocks were reported in lanes on Malibu Canyon Road and Kanan Road. Motorists were warned to be on the lookout for possible rockslides as the City of Malibu issued a directive to avoid Malibu Canyon Road.
Classes at Pepperdine's Malibu campus were canceled for the day and the university issued an advisory urging faculty, students, and staff to avoid canyon roads near the campus.
Parts of Riverside County, particularly those impacted by the Holy Fire, were issued mandatory evacuation orders.
A third big rig overturned on the 118 at Topanga Canyon Boulevard, with all westbound lanes reported blocked until further notice.
Wind advisories were also in effect for Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange and San Diego counties.
