The people who have the power to tell the story of this moment of national reckoning will shape how future generations will come to understand it.

According to flmmaker and founder of Firelight Media Documentary, Lab Stanley Nelson, it is critical that African Americans and other people of color who are at the center of this revolution tell the stories. 

Nelson has been making documentary films on the African American experience for over 30 years, particularly misrepresented or forgotten histories. He stopped by Los Angeles Times Today to discuss.
