Music is a sanctuary for tens of thousands of kids in the Los Angeles Unified School District. But their instruments need constant care and attention. That's why there's a warehouse in downtown LA with a dedicated team of craftspeople who fix and maintain more than 80,000 student violins, tubas, pianos and so much more.

It's the last music workshop of its kind in America and it's profiled in a short documentary “The Last Repair Shop.”

Kris bowers and Ben Proudfoot co-directed the film, and joined Lisa McRee on LA Times Today to present their film in full.
