LA Stories with Giselle Fernandez profiles NFL Hall of Famer and LA Rams legend Eric Dickerson.

He opens up his Calabasas home to Giselle and shares the highs and lows of his iconic career as one of the game’s greatest running backs and record holders.

Eric shows LA Stories his office full of irreplaceable football memorabilia that was almost lost in the 2018 Woolsey Fire. While he was evacuated at a local hotel, his young son drew a picture of two angels around their house with the flames fast approaching.

Remarkably, Dickerson reveals that later he learned two Texas firefighters flew in from his home state and protected his home from perishing in blaze.

Giselle learns more about his humble childhood in Texas, how he learned that his parents were really his grandparents, and the enduring examples they infused in him to stand up for what he believed.

Today, Dickerson is a Ram once again, as the VP of Business Development for the team, with the goal of getting the organization more engaged and embraced in SoCal communities. He is also an active vocal critic of the NFL.

Dickerson is advocating for players who have put their bodies and brains on the line while the league has made billions. He tells Giselle he will not wear his Hall of Fame jacket again until all players receive lifetime health care insurance as well as an improved, livable, pension.

In addition, Dickerson shares with Giselle further criticisms regarding the NFL and race.
