Working as an EMT exposed Caroline Menjivar to several community issues, including food insecurity, illegal evictions, and insufficient elder care. The culmination of these experiences inspired her to run for California's 20th District State Senate seat. 

What Menjivar enjoys most about her role is the ability to start fresh every day and work on all the issues she cares about. Her colleagues taught her the importance of time management so she can tackle these issues most effectively. 

A little known fact is the that Menjivar's district is home to many horse riders and ranches. She enjoys taking out-of-town visitors to the Castaway restaurant in Burbank, which has beautiful views of the San Fernando Valley.
