Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo was inspired to run for office in order to give back to the community that raised him.

Gordo underscored the importance of volunteerism in Pasadena as a hallmark of his community, given the presence of over 1,000 nonprofit organizations in his town. His favorite part about his job is meeting and talking with people about the issues facing their families and neighborhoods.

On his commutes to work, Gordo enjoys listening to traffic reports, classical and mariachi music. When asked to describe Pasasdena in three words, he answered "best city ever."
