California Assemblymember Miguel Santiago (D-53) thinks his 10-year-old self wouldn't believe where he is now. "I think I would've pinched myself like I pinch myself today."

In his Know Your Electeds interview, Santiago says his upbringing and the opportunities he received inspired him to run for office. He also talks about some of his top legislative priorities, including the homelessness crisis, affordable housing, and debt-free education. 

Santiago has represented California's 53rd Assembly District since 2014. He loves to skateboard.
