Kevin Faulconer is running to unseat Gov. Gavin Newsom in California’s recall election on Sept. 14. He previously served as the mayor of San Diego from 2014 to 2020.

Faulconer supports same-sex marriage, abortion rights and a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

The Republican gubernatorial candidate said he voted for Donald Trump in 2020 and has proposed cutting taxes for the middle class if he wins the election.
