LOS ANGELES — California will be represented at the Ms. Black USA pageant in Washington, D.C. by Gentel Sharrie.
Ms. Black California is a preliminary to Ms. Black USA, a pageant celebrating Black women and empowering them to redefine beauty.
Sharrie’s platform, “Protect Your Peace,” is deeply personal. Having witnessed domestic violence years before, she is passionately advocates against it by supporting spaces dedicated to the cause, such as 'Funk the Violence,' an event dedicated to raising awareness and funds to combat violence against women.
As Sharrie prepares to compete on the national stage this weekend, she remains focused on her mission to be a voice of encouragement and resilience, letting women know they are loved and worthy.
Sharrie says her journey is not only about a crown but about making a lasting impact and raising awareness on vital issues that affect countless lives.
