LOS ANGELES — On the practice field at Loyola High School, senior athlete Ceyair Wright is one player who stands out.

He's confident as he lines up, un-phased running his routes, and sure every time he catches the football — all signs of a player who grew up with the game. 

"I think it's honestly just the exhilaration and the adrenaline you get," he explained. "It's an amazing feeling that you can't really find anywhere else."

And while he may be a track standout and one of the top cornerback recruits in the country, if you ask Loyola head coach Drew Casani why Wright stands out, it's not just his talent the coach mentions.

"[My] first impression was that huge smile and that beaming gleam in his eyes," Casani said. "Just someone who works hard, is good at what he does, and still maintains his personality."

It's a smile that's on full display throughout practice, as Wright is passionate about the game of football.

What makes him truly unique is that the sport isn't the only passion he pursues. From a young age, Wright began acting and modeling. He's continued on throughout his high school career and will be starring in Space Jam 2 as Lebron James' son.

"It was super surreal," he said of acting in the upcoming movie. "I never really thought I would be in that position, considering I watched Space Jam when I was young, and I loved it. Being in the second one is a dream come true."

It's a dream come true to a blossoming actor, but not at all a surprise to his head coach, who is continuously impressed by the standout senior.

"A lot of young men are already down one path, and they don't get to keep those doors open," Casani explained. "It's awesome to see one man who we don't know where his final path is going to take him, but he's pursuing all of them 100 miles an hour."

In a time where many elite players devote all of their time to one passion, Wright has never felt like he had to choose.

Football and acting bring out the best in him, and he's been able to do both at their highest levels.  

"A lot of people do say focus on one thing, go to school, take your classes, whatever, but I feel like you shouldn't sell yourself short," he said. "If you want to do something, you should do it."

"I've always wanted to do acting, and I've always wanted to play football," Wright continued. "I've been extremely blessed to have the right people around me to do that."

Mr. Hollywood, as his teammates affectionately call him, is an example that if you set your mind to it, you really can do it all.
