LOS ANGELES — Every week, the kitchen of the Beit T’Shuvah rehab center becomes a bakery that gives its recovering residents more than a second chance.

Baked T’Shuvah was founded by Jackie Elkins, a mother with the desire to give back to the rehab center, where her own son found a strong support system.

Elkins brings support — along with her mixers from home — to give to recovering residents who are learning vocational skills by baking Challah bread, the Jewish Sabbath and holiday bread.
