INGLEWOOD, Calif. — An event hosted at SoFi Stadium brought nearly 200 men together, but it was a training camp that looked nothing like what they were used to.

Lanny Smith, founder of a mission-based brand called Actively Black, created a safe space for Black men to learn meditation, yoga, healing sound baths and how best to navigate issues they face from licensed therapists and mental health advocates.

As a former pro basketball player, Smith said he knows how hard it gets to navigate life after sports and wants to serve as a resource for the Black community.
