Brandini Toffee sells hand-crafted toffee with chocolate and almonds smashed to perfection.
Co-founder Brandon Weimer now looks over the process in his factory, but the factory used to be his kitchen. While a sophomore in high school, he created toffee never thinking it would turn into a full-fledged business.
“Toffee-making was a hobby, and it’s kind of odd for being a kid,” said Weimer.

Weimer and his co-founder Leah needed a way to raise money for a trip to Europe, so they decided to sell this toffee around town. After paying off the trip, they realized they had a business idea and it grew from there. Now 13 years later, the toffee is mostly still handmade with multiple storefronts in Palm Springs.
“There really is still an art to it and it does take a labor of attention and love and patience to make a consistent product. Machinery can’t replicate the details. It’s a handcrafted labor of love,” said Weimer.
He feels toffee is an underrated treat and hopes people will give it a try. You can get the original creation or have the toffee popcorn. The possibilities are endless.
“That texture should have a soft crunch, it shouldn’t stick to your teeth, it should melt in your mouth. It starts with how we cook it,” said Weimer.
The Palm Springs community has been a great place for the business to thrive, but now Weimer is excited to expand to the Los Angeles market with his first storefront in Century City Mall.
“It’s humbling and exciting to start at the ground level to introduce the brand and our products to people who aren’t familiar to us,” said Weimer.
And here you can get some of the legendary ice cream products that let the toffee shine.
“This is the only milk chocolate we have, and I’ll toss that with toffee bits there,” said Weimer.
