LOS ANGELES — It was created in the early 1990s in Taiwan and in recent years, there has been a drink revolution.

For Andrew Chau, boba is not just a drink, it is life. This small business entrepreneur is using the Taiwan-born drink (traditionally made out of milk tea and chewy tapioca balls) to bridge cultures.

He is one of the main driving forces in making boba culturally relevant and mainstream with Boba Guys.

Of course, a signature part of the boba drink is using a plastic straw. With the recent L.A. city “straws upon request” ordinance that passed on Earth Day, change is upon us and the boba guys are leading the way to a sustainable future.
