LOS ANGELES — On Sunday, the Channel Islands Harbor will be celebrating its 25th anniversary of the Celebration of the Whales Festival.

This milestone year is extra special, as the Santa Barbara Channel has been named an official Whale Heritage Area by the World Cetacean Alliance.

They received this accolade because of great conservation initiatives, education, research and responsible eco-tourism, as this area is a world-class destination for whale watching.
