DANA POINT, Calif. — City officials in Dana Point say a building inspector and Geotech engineer has assessed the site of a week-plus old landslide in Dana Point.

The landslide happened on Feb. 8, 2024 along a coastal bluff on Scenic Drive.

The city says in a statement dated, Feb. 14, 2024, “At this point, the City has deemed that no additional action is necessary, and out of an abundance of caution has recommended that the property owner contract for a professional engineering assessment of the property.”

A resident who lives nearby the coastal bluff property and Cal State Long Beach Department of Geological Sciences Professor Nate Onderdonk spoke with Spectrum News.
