LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles-based photographer and filmmaker Osceola Refetoff is one of two artists — along with Argentinian artist Guillermo Anselmo Vezzosi — featured in “Shifting Landscapes: Sea Level Rise in Los Angeles and Beyond,” on view at Building Bridges Art Exchange through Nov. 7.
The project uses research and data provided by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration with the participation of Dr. Eric Larour, manager at NASA’s Earth Sciences Division at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Refetoff’s work includes a sculptural component representing various data-based sea-level rise scenarios at the nearby Santa Monica Pier, as well as an eight-minute film called “Sea of Change,” which leveraged AI to help visualize the scenarios.
