LOS ANGELES — Actors Emilio Estevez, Fran Drescher and Glynn Turman, musicians Prince, Depeche Mode, Green Day and the B-52, and sports stars David Beckham and Orel Hershiser were among the luminaries named Monday in the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2025.
The honorees were all chosen to receive stars on the famed walk, although the selection doesn’t automatically mean they will actually be so honored. All the people on the list have two years to schedule a ceremony before their selections expire.
Honorees are chosen by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Selection Panel, then ratified by the chamber’s Board of Directors.
The Class of 2025 honorees are:
- for Motion Pictures, John Carpenter, Jessica Chastain, Bill Duke, Robert Englund, Emilio Estevez, Colin Farrell, Jane Fonda, Nia Long, Lisa Lu, Glynn Turman and Toni Vaz;
- for Television, Fran Drescher, Lauren Graham, Bill Nye, Molly Shannon, Sherri Shepherd, Courtney B. Vance, Chris Wallace, and “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone (double ceremony);
- for Recording, Fantasia, Depeche Mode, Los Bukis, The B-52s, Green Day, The Isley Brothers, Busta Rhymes, George Strait, Keith Urban, WAR and Prince (posthumous);
- for Live Theater/Live Performance, Misty Copeland and Alan Cumming; and
- for Radio, Adam Carolla.
