LOS ANGELES — Singer-actor Cher will receive the annual Icon Award on April 1 at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, honoring seven decades of contributions to music and pop culture, it was announced Monday in Los Angeles.

While not revealed as a performer on the show, Cher will be the subject of a musical tribute, the media company said.

The program, broadcast from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, will feature performances by Justin Timberlake, Green Day, TLC, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Tate McRae and others to be announced.

The 12th annual music awards show celebrates the most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app throughout 2023, while also offering a preview of the upcoming hits of 2024. The show will feature award presentations in multiple categories, live performances, surprise guests and collaborations and will showcase the stories of the winning artists' road to success, it was announced.

Artists receiving multiple nominations include Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, Blink-182, Drake, Dua Lipa, Fall Out Boy, Foo Fighters, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Shakira. For a full list of categories, visit here.

In addition to paying tribute to music and artists, the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards will give iHeartRadio listeners the opportunity to decide winners in several new and established categories. Fan voting will determine this year's Best Lyrics, Best Music Video, Best Fan Army, Social Star Award, TikTok Bop of the Year, and other areas. Among other categories, the show honors winners for Album of the Year in hip-hop, r&b, Latin, pop, country, alternative and other formats.

Among the best-selling music artists in history, 77-year-old Cher has sold over 100 million records during the course of her career, and has had a No. 1 single on a Billboard chart for seven consecutive decades. Along the way, she has won an Academy Award, a Grammy, an Emmy, Golden Globes, a Cannes Film Festival Award and a People's Choice Award in addition to the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors. In 2023, Cher celebrated the 25th anniversary of her best- selling album, "Believe," as well as her first-ever Christmas album, "Christmas," which hit the top of the Billboard charts.
