EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Awards season will officially kick into high gear Sunday with the 81st Golden Globes. Following a recent bout of controversy, the ceremony is back — televised on a new network and under new ownership.

Spectrum News took a closer look at some of the details surrounding the night, such as the curated menu by a celebrity chef, the extravagant gift bag to be offered to each winner and presenter, and where the stars will go post ceremony.

What You Need To Know

  • The 81st Golden Globe Awards will be held Sunday at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.

  • The ceremony joined forces with Nobu Restaurants, with a menu curated by acclaimed chef Nobu Matsuhisa

  • Each winner and presenter will be offered a gift bag worth $500,000

This year, the Globes joined forces with Nobu Restaurants to craft a culinary experience that is said to redefine the traditional award show menu. Renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa curated the exclusive menu that features signature dishes, such as salmon tartar with caviar in wasabi soy, yellowtail jalapeno, black cod miso and more.

"Our team is honored to be a part of this extraordinary collaboration," Matsuhisa said in a statement. "Crafting a menu for such an iconic event allowed us to push the boundaries of creativity. We hope the menu adds a touch of magic to an already unforgettable evening."

The Globes also joined up with lifestyle magazine Robb Report to unveil an exclusive gift bag that will be offered to the winners and presenters. It features more than 35 luxurious products and experiences.

"We wanted to present the presenters and winners with a gift that is thoughtful and true to Robb Report's brand," said lead curator Paul Croughton in a statement to Spectrum News. "We partnered with our long-time friends at Métier — a luxury leather goods house dedicated to creating timeless pieces of the highest quality, handcrafted in Italy — to create an exclusive item for the Golden Globes."

Totaling $500,000, the gift bag is curated across a wide variety of categories.

"I expect savvy wine collectors to be jumping on the rare allocation of the Liber Pater wines, which would be a sophisticated addition to any cellar," Croughton continued. "The stunning one-of-a-kind earrings from Coomi x Muzo are definitely red-carpet ready, so somebody is going to be very pleased with those unique pieces, but for those hitting the East Coast regularly, I also love the pizza-making master class from the team at Razza, one of the world’s highest-rated pizzerias — and who wouldn’t want to sample the pizza tasting-menu, too?"
