LOS ANGELES — Hailing from Jalisco, Mexico, is one of the most beloved cultural traditions: the music of mariachis. 

According to the Houston Symphony, mariachi music as we know it today “evolved as part of the political, social, and economic developments of twentieth-century Mexican history and the quest to forge a uniquely Mexican national identity.”

Spectrum News followed along with Mariachis Lindas Mexicanas, an all-female mariachi group in Los Angeles, as they prepared for one of the biggest performances of their musical careers.
