LOS ANGELES — Amid the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, picket lines got a touch of vibrance, creativity and humor thanks to a few writers who’ve established Picket Line Karaoke.
They introduced the concept a few weeks after the WGA strike began as a way to lift spirits during uncertain times. The idea is simple: anyone on the picket lines can sign up to sing a song. Many change the lyrics to express their thoughts on the strike.
The karaoke sessions have become a source of relief for both WGA and SAG-AFTRA members, fostering a sense of community and togetherness amid the ongoing standoff between the unions and the studios.
