LOS ANGELES — R&B singer and actor MAJOR. is releasing a new kind of rhythm, layered in hope and poetry after being nominated for a Grammy for his hit song “Honest.”

Writing from the DTLA Vintage Loft, MAJOR. said the pandemic has given us all a chance to reflect on hope in a new way.
His upcoming album, entitled “MAJOR. Hope Motivations,” aims to do just that.
“I needed to give people a new narrative for what hope really meant. We need it. Hope ain't never cancelled,” he emphasized.
Using the simplicity of spoken word with music by his friend, artist and producer Darien Dorsey, MAJOR. said he wanted to shift to a more reflective style of sound that “revives the inner champion of every listener.”
“It’s not easy, but the way I keep hope alive is, I use my language, I course correct my language to align with hopeful thought, with positive thought. I choose to say I will, I can, and it shall be,” he explained.
His spoken word album, “MAJOR. Hope Motivations,” will be released on September 28 on all streaming platforms. His goal is to empower listeners to take the time to heal from all the nation has endured.
“Something that I’ve learned is vulnerability is actually strength. Being able to release and be honest with that which you feel,” he said.
Ultimately, MAJOR.’s goal is help provide true hope to others.
