LOS ANGELES (CNS) — "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" topped the box office chart for the third consecutive week, grossing $21.7 million this weekend at theaters in the United States and Canada, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

The martial arts saga from Marvel Studios has now taken in $176.8 million domestically, surpassing "F9: The Fast Saga" as the second-highest grossing film in North America this year. It trails another Marvel film, "Black Widow," which has grossed $183 million.

"Free Guy" placed a distant second with $5.2 million Friday through Sunday in its sixth weekend in theaters, Comscore reported.

Clint Eastwood's "Cry Macho" — which is also available for home viewing on the HBO Max streaming service — opened with $4.5 million for third place.

Universal's "Candyman" was fourth with $3.5 million, followed by "Malignant" with $2.6 million.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were "Copshop" ($2.3 million), "Jungle Cruise" ($2 million), "Paw Patrol: The Movie" ($1.7 million), "The Eyes of Tammy Faye" ($675,000) and "Don't Breathe 2" ($665,000).
