Julianne Moore, Clive Owen, Joan Allen, Dane DeHaan and Ron Cephas Jones star in "Lisey's Story," a supernatural love story adapted from a best-selling Stephen King novel.

Here are five things to know:

  1. Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King and adapted by the author himself, "Lisey's Story" is a thriller that follows Lisey Landon. Academy Award-winner Julianne Moore plays Lisey. Two years after the death of her husband, world-renowned novelist Scott Landon, a series of unsettling events cause Lisey to face memories of her marriage to Scott that she has deliberately blocked out of her mind. Academy Award nominee Clive Owen plays Scott.
  2. Stephen King's novel, "Lisey's Story," was published in 2006 and won the Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel the same year. The genesis for "Lisey's Story" was established after King suffered from a case of double pneumonia in 2000. "'Lisey's Story' is a different thing for me," King said. "It's very close to my heart. Maybe it's because I wrote it after coming so close to dying, but it's also because the character spoke to me." King said that "Lisey's Story" is also one of his favorites because his marriage inspires it.
  3. King wrote all eight episodes of the Apple TV+ series.  Produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, “Lisey’s Story” also stars Jennifer Jason Leigh.
  4. Julianne Moore also serves as an executive producer on “Lisey’s Story." In addition to being an Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning actor, she’s the first American woman to be awarded top acting prizes at the Cannes, Berlin and Venice Film Festivals. She is also a New York Times bestselling author for her children’s book series, "Freckleface Strawberry.”
  5. Ron Cephas Jones, who plays Prof. Dashmiel, and his daughter Jasmine Cephas Jones became the first father-daughter duo to win Emmys in the same year in 2020. Ron Cephas Jones won Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his work on "This Is Us," while Jasmine Cephas Jones won Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama for her role in Quibi's #FreeRayshawn.
