LOS ANGELES (CNS) — Raya and the Last Dragon is the top-grossing film at the box office for the third straight weekend, taking in $5.1 million, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

Grosses were boosted as many theaters in New York City and Los Angeles reopened after months of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Another children's film, Tom & Jerry, also repeated its second- place showing from last week, taking in $3.8 million Friday through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada, Comscore reported.

The Courier, a drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch, opened with $2 million to take third place, followed by Chaos Walking with $1.9 million and The Croods: A New Age with $620,000.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were Boogie ($600,000), The Marksman ($480,000), Wonder Woman 1984 ($460,000), The Little Things ($340,000) and The Father ($321,701).

Indoor movie theaters in Southern California began reopening last week now that the region is in the red tier of the state's coronavirus reopening system.
