Disney Channel star Sofia Wylie talks to us about the hit series High School Musical: The Musical, as well as the holiday special, and being a role model to her younger fans.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is an American mockumentary musical drama streaming television series created for Disney+.  It's set at a fictionalized version of East High School, the school at which the original movie was filmed. The series follows a group of teenage theater enthusiasts who participate in a staging of High School Musical: The Musical as their school production.  
  3. The original High School Musical franchise centered on a series of musical romantic comedy-drama films. It made its cast Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, and Monique Coleman instant stars. HSM became a billion-dollar hit across screens big and small thanks to a love of song, dance, and happy endings. The original High School Musical sold 8 million DVD units, earning an operating income of $100 million.
  4. Sofia Wylie will turn 17 on January 7th and spends time in her hometown of Scottsdale Arizona. She gained prominence through her main role as Buffy Driscoll on the Disney Channel series Andi Mack. Her other roles include Cory Bailey in the 2019 film Back of the Net, Riri Williams in the Marvel Rising animated franchise, Mia Brooks in the Disney web series Shook.

Sofia, who is a quarter Korean on her father's side believes being a good role model to her fans is the only option, "I learn to take that very seriously, that’s why I think social media is such a great place and platform-wise to reach people and spread a message whatever that is, so I’ve wanted to spread positively and love," she said.
