LOS ANGELES (CNS) — Rapper Roddy Ricch and The Weeknd will each carry a leading eight nominations into Sunday evening's presentation of the American Music Awards during a socially distanced ceremony originating from the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

The pair are both nominated in the top category of Artist of the Year, as are Justin Bieber, Post Malone and Taylor Swift.

The ceremony will be broadcast from the Microsoft Theater and air on ABC. The winners are voted by fans, and the awards show is televised in more than 200 countries and territories around the world.

The Weeknd will perform during the show — including a duet with Kenny G. Also set to perform are Bebe Rexha with Doja Cat, Dan + Shay, Lewis Capaldi, Machine Gun Kelly, Jennifer Lopez with Maluma, Bad Bunny with Jhay Cortez, Bell Biv DeVoe, Billie Eilish, BTS, Dua Lipa, Bieber, Katy Perry, Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, Nelly, and Shawn Mendes.

Taraji P. Henson will host the show, which will be broadcast by ABC and tape-delayed on the West Coast, airing at 8 p.m.
