In an 11-minute Instagram video posted Wednesday, the actor and former wrestler said his family came down with the virus about two and a half weeks ago.

"I can tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family," Johnson said.

Johnson said his daughters, Jasmine, 4, and Tiana, 2, “bounced back” after having sore throats for a couple of days. He said, however, he and his wife, Lauren Hashian, had a “rough go.”

But Johnson said the entire family is feeling better now.

"I am happy to tell you guys that we as a family are good,” he said. “We are on the other end of it. We are on the other side. We are no longer contagious. And we are -- thank god -- we are healthy.

"We are counting our blessings right now because we're well aware that it isn't always the case that you get on the other end of COVID-19 stronger and healthier,” Johnson added. “I have had some of my best friends have lost their parents, their loved ones, to this virus that is so incredibly relentless and unforgiving, and it is insidious.”

Johnson said his family caught the virus from close family friends.

"I wish it was only me who tested positive, but it wasn't, it was my entire family, so this one was a real kick in the gut,” Johnson said.

The “Fast & Furious” star encouraged others to take the virus seriously, get tested before meeting up with friends, boost their immune systems and wear masks.

“It baffles me that some people out there — including some politicians — will take this idea of wearing masks and make it part of a political agenda,” he said.

“It has nothing to do with politics. Wear your mask.”
