COMPTON, Calif. — USC’s College Advising Corps program places recent college graduates in high schools to serve as full-time advisers.

What started with two staffers 10 years ago has grown into 43 college advisers serving in eight school districts throughout Los Angeles County.

Organizers say approximately 96% of the participants are first-generation students from underrepresented communities.
