SANTA ANA, Calif. — Nathalie Lopez is a senior at Semulie Academy and is part of the College Bound program with the Boys and Girls Club in Santa Ana.

As a first-generation Mexican-Salvadorian student, she never imagined pursuing her educational dreams because it was not discussed in her family until joining this program.

The Boys and Girls Club program helps over 2,000 students in Santa Ana.

The program’s mission is to work with students in this community because the majority are first-generation, low-income, and face a financial burden to overcome.
