LOS ANGELES — In early October, some libraries, schools and bookstores honor Banned Books Week — to draw attention to titles that have been banned or restricted.

Across the U.S., restricting access to certain books has become a hotly debated topic.

Some school boards have questioned the educational merit of certain novels and historic works.

In Los Angeles County, the Board of Supervisors have taken a stand firmly against censorship and passed a motion that allows teens across the state to have access to the LA County digital library.
