LOS ANGELES — A new national study shows that learning gaps created during the COVID-19 pandemic are widening despite billions of federal dollars allocated to help address learning loss.

This is especially true for Black and Latino students in the Los Angeles Unified School District who continue to fall behind in reading and math.

The Equity Alliance for LA's Kids is a group of organizations working to allocate adequate resources to address students' needs and break the cycles of poverty and institutionalized racism. They held a roundtable to hear from graduating LAUSD seniors about the challenges they faced and overcame.
