LOS ANGELES — From ChatGPT to Google Bard, artificial intelligence is rapidly entering everyday life and industry. That’s why the University of Southern California is investing $1 billion into advancing computing research and curriculum as part of the program they have dubbed the Frontiers of Computing Initiative.

The investment is set to provide resources over 10 years to integrate computing curriculum into every discipline across the university, fund more research into practical uses for artificial intelligence, open a new building on campus and hire about 90 new faculty members by 2028.
