LOS ANGELES — Parents in North Hollywood are taking a stand by protesting an upcoming June 2 Pride event scheduled at an elementary school.

While some parents expressed their dissent by highlighting differing beliefs and concerns, others in the community firmly support the event. They emphasized the importance of celebrating diversity and fostering inclusivity for all.

According to the Human Rights Campaign, LGBTQ+ youth are often subjected to bullying in educational institutions, including verbal and physical harassment and exclusion.

The report also states integrating LGBTQ+ history, contributions and experiences into the curriculum helps create a more inclusive learning environment and acknowledges the diversity of identities and fosters understanding and respect among students.
