LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Zoo is providing free school-day admissions for students during this week’s three-day strike of non-teaching LAUSD employees. Starting Tuesday, the zoo is extending its school group pricing to currently enrolled LAUSD students and their chaperones.
K-12 students who show proof of enrollment, such as a student ID, report card or school newsletter, will be admitted for free. Admission for an accompanying adult chaperone is $5. Tickets are available only at the zoo box office and cannot be purchased online.
The zoo is also offering full days of its community safari program. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Tuesday through Thursday, the K-5 zoo camp will be available for $50 per student per day. The zoo will provide free extended child care from 8 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.
