INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles launch the Inglewood Innovation Center, providing girls between the ages of 5 to 17 with hands-on learning focused on STEAM.

Denise Nowack, chief mission delivery officer for GSGLA, said that middle-income students in sixth grade have 4,000 more hours of after-school summer program learning than those from lower-income neighborhoods and the organization hopes to close that gap.
