CVS pharmacies in Huntington Beach, Irvine, and Newport Beach will provide COVID-19 vaccinations to eligible populations starting February 12.
Health care workers, persons age 65 and older, and individuals at risk of occupational exposure to COVID-19 in education and childcare settings as well as emergency services are currently eligible, according to the California Department of Health; food and agriculture workers deemed essential can also receive the vaccine.
Vaccinations will be by appointment only. CVS will open its digital scheduler February 11. That’s when eligible customers can book appointments in advance at CVS.com or by calling 1-800-746-7287.
The list of specific stores will be available on CVS.com as stores receive vaccine shipments and appointments become available.
California is one of 11 states where CVS will begin to offer vaccinations next week. The federal government is providing 81,900 doses to 120 CVS stores in the state through its pharmacy partnership program. As supply increases, CVS will expand the number of states and stores offering vaccinations, the company said in a statement.
