LOS ANGELES (CNS) — The Los Angeles Fire Department Saturday closed the gates of the Dodger Stadium COVID-19 vaccination site for almost an hour after protesters tried to get inside, but vaccines continued to be administered.

The gates were closed from 1:50 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. to keep protesters out, according to LAFD Firefighter David Ortiz.

The Los Angeles Police Department estimated there were 50 protesters and reported no arrests.

Video from the scene showed one protester with a sign urging the recall of Gov. Gavin Newsom. A photo showed one sign that said, "Save your soul. Turn back now."

When the gates closed, everyone inside received their vaccines, while those locked out got their shots after the protesters left.

Chief Michel Moore tweeted, "Working with our public safety partners to ensure everyone with an appointment gets their vaccine today."

Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis condemned "the actions of the mask-less anti-vaccine protesters."

"What they did today amounts to intentional sabotage of an effort to keep our community healthy and get ahead of alarming variants making their way into Los Angeles County," Solis tweeted.

A post on social media described the demonstration as the "Scamdemic Protest/March," the Los Angeles Times reported. It advised participants to "please refrain from wearing Trump/MAGA attire as we want our statement to resonate with the sheeple. No flags but informational signs only," according to The Times.

The post also described the protest as "a sharing information protest and march against everything COVID, Vaccine, PCR Tests, Lockdowns, Masks, Fauci, Gates, Newsom, China, digital tracking, etc." The Times reported.
